A New Chapter

I will be moving to Dallas in late January/early February to start my new career as an Assistant Buyer (capitalization makes everything look more formal, doesn't it?). Telling my friends was difficult, but they were wonderfully supportive as always. How to break the news to my father was a challenge. So challenging, that I just blurted it out. No melodramatics, no small talk, just direct communication. He took the news well and was very happy for me. I spent about an hour today looking at potential places to live and contacting the people that will be coordinating my move. I also sent Stephanie a list of guests for my going away party. I have not gone through a major transition like this in over two decades. I want to be ready for the emotional tidal wave when it hits.
